About our establishment

Our holiday house is in the village of Potamos in the neighbourhood of Pano Gitonia. Potamos is climbing on the mountainside just over the port of Aegiali on Amorgos. It is very picturesque and has kept the traditional architecture and way of life.

Location Holiday House

The holiday houses is in a very calm and quiet place where you can enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view over the Aegean Sea, the Bay of Aegiali and nature. In this relaxing atmosphere, you can really feel you are on vacation. In the evening, you can sit down and see the fishing boats coming to the port in the fantastic sunsets.

Kamara taverna is a few minutes walk away, or you can go down to the port, which has a variety of restaurants, shops, cafes and bars. It’s about 10 minutes to walk down and 20-30 minutes up because it’s uphill. With a car, it’s just a few minutes, and there is a road to the house.

Amorgos is famous for its beautiful footpaths, which take you to the high dramatic mountains full of herbs and flowers. From Potamos, you have easy access to some of them.

How to come to us

Amorgos has two ports; nearest to our holiday houses is the port of Aegiali. You reach Amorgos from Piraeus and most of the Cyclades islands.

From the port of Aegiali, drive straight and take right at the t-cross. After 250 m, turn left at the sign to Potamos. Drive about 1.4 km and turn right, follow the road until the parking.

From the port of Katapola, drive towards Aegiali and about 250 m before you reach Aegiali, turn left at the sign to Potamos. Drive about 1.4 km and turn right, follow the road until the parking.

INTERNATIONAL AIRPORTS

Mykonos
The island has 2 ports, from the airport you can take a taxi, to the old port it’s around 10 min and to the new port around 15 min. The island has also buses from the airport, for timetable you need to check at arrival. There are some direct ferries every week during the summer season, it takes around 1½ hour. You can also connect via another island in the Cyclades to go to Amorgos.

Santorini
From the airport you can take a taxi to the port, it takes about 10-15 min. Based on the past experience, there are daily ferry connections to Amorgos, it takes from 1½ hour up to 5½ hours depending on the route.

DOMESTIC AIRPORTS

Astypalea
You can take a taxi to the port which takes about 15 min or in the summer there are also buses. The ferry goes to the port of Aegiali some days a week and takes about 1 hour and 40 min.

Naxos
You can take a taxi to the port which takes about 10 min. There are daily ferry connections to Amorgos, it takes from 1½ hour up to 6 hours depending on the route.

Paros
You can take a taxi to the port which takes about 15-20 min or bus which goes to every flight. There are daily ferry connections to Amorgos, it takes about 2 hours.

Syros
You can take a taxi to the port which takes about 10 min. There are daily ferry connections to Amorgos in the summertime, it takes about 4 hours.

At Piraeus port, you will have the chance to buy tickets for the ship but we recommend you to do that in advance via the Internet. Remember that Amorgos has two ports, Aegiali port which is the nearest to us (3 to 5 min) and Katapola port which is the main port of Amorgos (30 – 40 min from us).
